PAYMENTS: Gateway Reservations a.k.a. Durango Silverton Railroad Reservations takes credit/debit card payment at the time the reservation is made. Speak with a travel consultant to make alternate payments arrangements if required. If full payment has not been received by the due date, the credit/debit card on file will automatically be charged, unless other arrangements have been previously made. A credit card placed on a reservation constitutes a payment and acceptance of the reservations' policies.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any and all changes or cancellations must be made directly through Durango Silverton Railroad Reservations, also known as Gateway Reservations. The lodging or activity provider's cancellation policies are applicable when reserving non-package reservations. Any valid refunds will be processed less a 10% cancel fee.

PACKAGES: Packages are defined as itineraries that include lodging plus any other itinerary item(s). Changes to confirmed packages may incur a $26 change fee. Packages canceled more than 15 days from arrival will incur a $35 cancellation fee. There is no refund for packages or packaged itinerary items canceled within 15 days of arrival or during your trip. Packaged itinerary items may be subject to the providers' cancellation policies, which may be stricter than Durango Silverton Railroad Reservations policies. There are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures.

TRAIN RIDES: Unless upgrading your existing train reservations, changes to train reservations will incur a $7.75 per person change fee. There is a $15.75 per adult and an $8.75 per child fee for train tickets canceled more than 5 days from your train departure date. These fees are in addition to the above-mentioned package cancellation fees. Train tickets canceled within 5 days of your scheduled train departure date are non-refundable. Some special train events, such as the Polar Express™, are non-refundable.

TRIP INSURANCE: Trip insurance is available at 7.7% of the total itinerary cost. The trip insurance premium is not refundable if the covered itinerary is canceled. Note: you have 15 days from the date you purchased trip insurance to review the policy and cancel directly with Travel Guard, if the cancellation occurs more than 24 hours prior to departing your home for the insured trip.

NOTICE OF RESPONSIBILITY : For all arrangements, Durango Silverton Railroad Reservations acts solely in the capacity of an agent on behalf of its patrons in arranging for transportation, lodging, activities, and other services, and, as such, is not responsible for any damages, loss, delay, bankruptcy, injury, or accidents due to any act or default on the part of any company or person engaged in providing transportation, lodging, activities, or other services, which are a part of this package.
Written Deposit Policy
(1) Night's lodging deposit plus the full cost of the historic train, activities, transportation and trip insurance are due at time of booking. Balance of itinerary is due 30 days prior to arrival. The credit card on file will be charged at that time unless other payment arrangements have been made. Christmas Holiday and Spring Break Reservations require final payment 45 days prior to arrival date.
